Thomas P. Foster, Jr

Mr. Foster is Vice President - Underwriting of Alta Holdings, LLC and applies his expertise in underwriting prospective captive clients as well as in the development of new programs and services. He has a career spanning more than 20 years in the property and casualty insurance marketplace.

Tom's background includes underwriting, marketing and sales with insurance carriers, brokerages and administrators. His career began in AIG's international division underwriting casualty risks in the Asia Pacific market. In 1993, Tom moved into a marketing role with AIG Risk Management, facilitating new business development with major insurance brokers and their Fortune 1000 clients. He later became a licensed insurance broker and held positions in sales with a specialty division of Zurich Insurance, Liberty Mutual - National Accounts, and Arthur J. Gallagher of New York. Tom joined a national self-insured program administrator in 2004, underwriting and managing a group of 6 California based self-insured trusts. In May of 2008, he came to Alta Holdings, LLC supporting the operation out of the California headquarters.

Tom's technical expertise includes most areas of casualty coverage with a concentration in workers' compensation. Furthermore, he also has extensive background in working with loss sensitive programs and alternative risk group plans such as RPGs and group captives.
